My Namaz is a prayer times app built and published by Shofiqul Islam. This policy is short because the app is simple: My Namaz does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
With your permission, the app reads your device's location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are. This calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is never transmitted to the developer or to any third party, and is not stored anywhere except on your own device (so the app can work offline). You can decline the location permission and set a location manually instead.
To display the name of your town (for example "Manchester" rather than coordinates), the app may send your approximate coordinates to a reverse-geocoding service (BigDataCloud) to look up the place name. No identifier, account, or personal information accompanies this lookup, and the app works fully without it.
Prayer alerts are scheduled locally on your device using Android's alarm system. They involve no external service.
Your preferences (alert choices, calculation method, saved location) are stored only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
If a future version of the app changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version is released.
